Privacy & disclosure

Short version: we ask for one thing, an email address, and only if you want the guide. We do not sell it. Ask and it is gone.

The one-paragraph version

The only personal information this site collects is an email address, and only when you type one into the guide form yourself. It is stored with our website host and used to send you the Safe Spice Shopping Guide and occasional notes about new spice files. It is never sold, rented or handed to anyone else. Email thepantryfilesco@gmail.com and we will delete it.

Who runs this site

The Pantry Files is an independent publisher of short videos and written guides about spices โ€” their history, the science, and the safety checks worth knowing. Contact for anything on this page, including a request to see or delete your data: thepantryfilesco@gmail.com.

What we collect

Your email address โ€” only if you enter it in the guide form. That is the only field on the form, and the only personal detail we ask for anywhere on this site.

We do not ask for your name, address, phone number or payment details, and we have no accounts or logins.

Where it is stored, and who can see it

The form is handled by Netlify Forms. Netlify, Inc. hosts this website, and submissions sit in the site's Netlify account, where only the site owner can read them. Netlify's own privacy terms apply to that storage.

Submitting the form also passes through Netlify's spam filtering, which may briefly see the submission in order to check it.

What we use it for

That is the whole list. No selling, no renting, no sharing with other marketers, no advertising profiles.

Getting removed, or seeing what we hold

Email thepantryfilesco@gmail.com and say the word. We will delete your address, or tell you exactly what is stored against it, usually within a few days and always within 30. No reason required, and nothing is kept after deletion.

If a mailing list is ever set up, every email will also carry a one-click unsubscribe link.

Cookies, analytics and third parties

This site sets no tracking or advertising cookies of its own, and runs no analytics scripts.

Two outside services are involved in simply loading the page:

If you click through to Amazon, YouTube, Instagram or Pinterest, you are on their site and their privacy policies take over from ours.

Affiliate disclosure

The Pantry Files is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. As an Amazon Associate, The Pantry Files earns from qualifying purchases. The product links on this site are affiliate links, which carry a tracking tag so Amazon knows the visit came from here. The price you pay is exactly the same either way.

Products are chosen to match what the videos and the guide actually say โ€” if a video says buy the whole root, the link is the whole root. Being an affiliate link never changes the recommendation.

Not medical advice

Everything here is general information about food, cooking and food safety. It is not medical, dietary or safety advice, and it is not a substitute for talking to a doctor, dietitian or pharmacist about your own situation โ€” particularly if you take medication. Fenugreek, for one, can lower blood sugar and interacts with glucose-lowering drugs.

Children

This site is meant for adults doing their own grocery shopping. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. If you believe a child has submitted an email address, tell us and we will remove it.

Changes

If what we collect or how we use it changes, this page changes with it and the date below is updated.
